Job Overview Responsible for day to day contract reviewing, providing legal guidance on international trade with a focus on the trading of oil and gas commodities (including the trading of physically and financially settled LPG, LNG, ethane, naphtha etc.), maritime issues, shipping contracts. Work closely with internal teams across legal, operations, and commercial departments to ensure compliance with international laws and optimize risk management strategies for global trade activities.Familiar with international trade law, maritime law, with good experience in advising on cargo and shipping contracts and trade regulations in the commodity trading sector.
Key responsibilitiesProvide legal services and support to Trading businesses.Prepare, review and advise on contracts and other legal matters, as required.Negotiate and resolve disputes in relation to Trading and other businesses.Maintain compliance with laws and internal regulations with regards to Trading and other businesses.Monitor and keep abreast of any changes in the law and advise the Management on the impact of such on the business and operations, recommend strategies and solutions for compliance when necessary.
Required qualificationsLegal professional qualification with at least 5 years relevant working experience.Knowledge of the energy business (preferably the LPG/LNG and/or the gas sector).Ability to communicate effectively in a cross-cultural environment.Ability to work effectively under pressure and make quick decisionsGood command of English and Basic Chinese for communication with headquarters is deemed a plus
