    What you'll do
    Designs and provides technical guidance for internal personnel analyzing and troubleshooting unscheduled maintenance on Viasat IFC system. Communicate with Aviation Operations Managers, Quality Assurance, Materials management, and contract maintenance as required to support the repair and maintenance process. Participate with technical teams to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair any discrepancies related to the terminals in accordance with approved technical data. Analyze system reliability and determine a course of action based on those findings. Provide remote assistance to support diagnostic checks on Viasat IFEC equipment installed on mobility operations customer vehicles. Coordinate new software roll out, testing and implementation to minimize impact to reliability. Review’s terminal historical data and issues action plans as required based on data trends and team analysis. Generate metrics from historic analysis provided by maintenance control team. Utilize Splunk to determine predictive failures and trend common failures to provide recommendations to development engineering Retrieve and analyze log files in a Linux environment. Own User Interface software improvements and provide recommendation to engineering for corrective action. Manage over the air terminal software roll-out and coordination with internal and external engineering. Own all single terminal investigations Manage operations repeat and chronic programs Provide source data for technical training department Perform other tasks as assigned by the Manager, Customer Support Center (CSC)
    The day-to-day
    5+ years’ experience in troubleshooting and triage of technical issues in a fast paced environment, to support customers. 5+ years’ experience in Network Operations and Product Support 3+ years analyzing and trending operational data to gain efficiencies 3+ years working with Ku or Ka band RF equipment, antennas, standard test equipment, and communications theory. 3+ years working in a Linux networking environment with log analysis Proven Ability to provide on the job training related to Linux, Satcom and troubleshooting mobility terminals. Ability to work a flexible schedule in a 24x7 environment as needed to support round-the-clock operations Ability to assist customers with complex troubleshooting without instruction, using sound judgment to obtain results. Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time.

    Experience/knowledge of Splunk Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline Experience in the Airline/Commercial or Business aviation industry with knowledge of the regulatory environment.

    What you'll do
    The Solutions Engineer focus specializes in operational/aviation projects/programs. Manages engineering, technical, and procurement activities related to planning, executing, supervising, control of technical, operational, financial, budgeting, and contractual commitments.The Solutions Engineer will understand customer needs, recommend and apply Viasat and 3rd party technologies into customer systems, demonstrate capabilities and take part in technical customer briefings and support capture / business development / proposal activities.
    The day-to-day
    Technical responsibility for customer solutions and engineering implementation through leadership, systems engineering approach, and execution of contract deliverables while identifying and mitigating risks, and collaborating with customers.Convey the needs of the customer to the program, business development, and engineering teams. Able to communicate benefits of new technology and novel integration to the clients.Support the development, installation and maintenance of various systems (including the Iris Test Facility) being used by Viasat and its partners for Air Traffic Management programs in the region.Serve as the primary technical interface to the customer(s) representing the program/service offering team and Viasat as a whole.Apply a collaborative/consultative working and leadership style, relying on common sense and personal competence for persuasion and consensus building.Support the business unit in assessing market/product offerings and opportunities, representing overarching engineering viewpoint of the ability of the business unit to execute to derived cost and schedule requirements.Participate in technical feasibility reviews and decision-making regarding new products/projectsLead performance monitoring and improvement of our customer’s experience.Coordinates departmental or multi-functional teams, focused on delivering new or upgrading existing products.
    What you'll need
    Understanding of air traffic management and ATM systems,Experience in networking and services, delivering integrated products and software development.Understanding solution designs, network architecture, storage solutions, cloud and hosting solutions,Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.Experience participating in multi-disciplined engineering execution with team over diverse geographical locations.

    Proven track record to contribute to proposal efforts and participate in ongoing business development and Proof of Concept deployments.Demonstrated understanding and experience contributing across product life cycle.Ability to coordinate, plan and implement customer facing demonstrations, either as standalone or as part of a larger architecture.
