Tyco Electronics Singapore Pte Ltd (TE Connectivity) is looking for an R&D Scientist/Engineer to join our Corporate R&D Center. The Scientist/Engineer will be part of a newly formed Artificial Intelligence team to create an AI Hub for TE in Singapore. Team members will collaborate with R&D peers, business unit partners as well as local university and government research centers to undertake projects that will embed AI in TE’s design and process development work flows to deliver a competitive advantage to TE’s technologies. This position is based at our Singapore HQ.
The Singapore Corporate R&D Center is chartered to work with the CTO’s and Advanced Development Groups of TE Business Units to identify technical areas of interest for R&D and develop forward looking technologies that will deliver broad value to the business. In order to improve the New Product Development process, TE is expanding our Artificial Intelligence capabilities as a part of our Digitalization strategy to improve efficiency, decrease cost, and decrease time to market.
Job Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and deploy an enterprise-scale agentic AI platform to support engineering users in product design and manufacturing process development, ensuring robust, scalable, and reliable system performance.Collaborate with multiple business units, IT, and global engineering teams to define and execute the agentic platform and architecture strategy, including scalability, governance, and cross-functional adoption.Develop agentic workflows and orchestration frameworks, while providing technical support and guidance to users to ensure effective platform utilization.Evaluate and manage external vendors, and drive program execution to deliver platform capabilities and business impact.Identify and apply the latest developments in AI technology and high-performance computing to continuously improve the platform and its capabilitiesCreate awareness across TE of the AI modeling capabilities of the Singapore Corporate R&D Center Partner with Singapore research institutes to develop advanced AI techniques and assist with validation and knowledge transfer of outsourced projects
Job Requirements:
Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or a related field with 8-12 years (or Bachelor degree with 10-15 years, or PhD degree) plus relevant working/research experience Expertise in LLMs, multi-agent/agentic AI frameworks and relevant programming skillsEnterprise AI platform deployment experience with architecture knowledge (cloud, DevOps, MLOps, etc.)Strong communication and stakeholder managementAbility to lead programs independentlyKeen interest in R&D involving coding and data Experience in effective project management strategies and tactics Basic understanding of engineering knowledge such as materials/manufacturing processes
Preferred:
Familiarity with TE products, such as connectors, cables, sensors etc. Broad knowledge of different materials’ mechanical, electric, thermal properties, including polymers, metals and alloys Broad knowledge of manufacturing processes (molding, extrusion, plating, stamping, assembly etc.), material development and product design
