Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for production of shop drawings and detailed construction issues;Prepares detailed as-built/shop drawings for submission and interior fit-out works/construction;Maintains, updates and makes amendments to drawings as needed;Performs site checking to ensure proper dimension, connection, and detail for fabrication;Analyses and interprets changes to drawings;Understands the project scope and requirements in the preparation of detailed shop drawings, ensuring that the drawings are easily understood by the project teams;Ensures the proper indexing, filing, and storage of drawings in both hardcopy and electronic media;Manages multiple projects concurrently and accurately in a timely manner through workload prioritisation;Prepares documents and transmittal form for submissions;Connsults with key personnel in the project planning on necessary details in the preparation of drawings;Studies drawings and other pertinent papers in preparation for fabrication or erection drawings;Ensures that all materials are detailed and accounted for in erection drawings;Collaborates with quality supervisor to guarantee adherence to specification;Assists Project Manager in the co-ordination of project management activities to ensure that projects are executed in a smooth and effective manner;Assists Project Manager in carrying out all shop drawings and submission with Drafting Department;Assists Project Manager in carrying out risk assessment and other risk management activities; makes recommendations on risk control measures; communicating risk assessment to all workers;Ensures all contractors are safety inducted and issued with Permit before work commencement;Ensures the adherence to the safe work procedure (SWP) established; to inform Project Manager or Project Director of any shortcoming in the SWP or risk control measures implemented;Ensures the familiarization with the scope of works;Resolves site problems proactively in a timely manner and seeks advice from Project Manager as appropriate;Ensures the timely preparation of project progress and other reports;Follows up on all aspects of QA/QC matters; records all defects works and ensure proper documentation;Co-ordinates daily activities of workers’ duties and to ensure that they are performed in a proper manner;Makes daily checks on work progress, housekeeping and safety implementation on site with safety personnel;Assists in cost control by cutting materials wastage, reducing labour cost, usage of tools and equipment, etc.;Ensures proper project documentation including email communication;Issues work checklists for site supervisor;Initials and controls all delivery orders;Assists in promoting good team morale and team spirit in the project team;Any other duties as assigned.
QualificationDiploma in Architectural/M&E discipline or equivalent.
Approximate Years of Experience6 years professional related experience.Prior ID experience in construction/fit-out/building industry.
Job DescriptionsTakes up quantity as per BQ and the detailed breakdown in the Excel sheet;Reviews tender pricing with manager; understands the project schedule, profit margin and goodwill discount; attends tender interviews; goes through tender reply with manager and prepares reply accordingly;Seeks quotation from the respective trades and follows up on submission of quotations;Reviews letter of appointments, contract drawings and documents and to highlight any deviation from the tender;Attends project kick off meetings and brief the scope of works with project team and management;Follows up on making arrangements for sample submission;Negotiates with the respective supplier and appoints the specialist sub-contractors based on trade;Ensures the timely submission of VO cost on day to day or weekly basis and communicates with the project manager; timely submission of monthly progress claims; final account closing;Submits the progress claim on monthly basis;Follows up effectively on payment certificate and payment with the clients;Certifies sub-contractors claims based on site progress and quantity;Submits the warranty based on contractual terms;Any other duties as may be assigned.
Job RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil/M&E Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or in a similar role within the construction industry.Strong analytical and numerical skills, with attention to detail.Proficiency in cost estimating and quantity takeoff techniques.Knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and relevant regulations.Excellent communication and negotiation skills.Ability to work effectively in a team environment and under pressure.Proficiency in relevant software tools such as Excel, CostX, Bluebeam, or similar.Entry level is welcome to apply
