  • A newspaper for the local Malay community, Berita Harian was established on July 1, 1957. It presents news and issues from home, the region and the world, featuring a wide spectrum of topics from sports to politics and religion. Other highlights include Malay culture and tradition, arts and heritage, family, hobbies and leisure.
    OMG (Orang Muda Gitew: Young People Like That) is a young audience initiative under Berita Harian (BH). It aims to engage youths and young adults with a rational, moderate, yet progressive voice, offering perspectives on topics of importance to them.
    We are looking for a proactive, dynamic individual to be part of this initiative focused on building BH's readership and reach amongst the young audiences.
    As a Social Media Producer, you are responsible for the end-to-end workflow to produce content for Berita Harian’s young audience brand, OMGxBH’s social media platforms. This includes researching and writing stories and scripts, filming and editing, conducting interviews, and reporting on news promptly and accurately for the social media platform. Your work will be to inform, educate, entertain, and engage our audience. You will also be required to monitor site metrics, respond to reader comments, and implement creative design.
    In this role, your key responsibilities are to:Research story ideas and generate content based on news and developments.Pitch creative and fresh content ideas in line with Gen Z’s trends, concerns and interests.Produce multimedia content, including short videos and social media posts, under BH’s young audience initiative. These include street interviews, memes, vox pox, explainers, skits and more)Other duties include transcribing, scripting, filming, editing, producing and uploading content.Build communities through engagement on various platforms.Meet content completion deadlines.Work collaboratively as part of the Social Media Team, and larger News Editorial Team.Represent the organisation professionally.Build and execute social media strategy through research and audience identification.Generate, edit, publish and share content that builds reach and engagement.Continuously improve by capturing and analysing the data/metrics, insights and best practices.Collaborate with other departments (customer relations, sales etc) for relevant social media initiatives.
    Requirements:Minimum diploma or degree in Journalism, New Media, Mass Communications or equivalent from a recognised institutionStrong writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skillsDemonstrable social networking capabilities and social analytics tools knowledgeKnowledge of online marketing and a good understanding of major marketing channelsPositive attitude, detail and audience-oriented with good multitasking and organisational abilityEffectively bilingual in Malay and EnglishHighly creative and meticulous, with high personal standards, and ownership in his/her projects.Able to prioritise, multitask and work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.At least 2 years of relevant experience in videography and photography.Have a track record in videography and editing, especially in social media.Proficient in editing software under Adobe Creative Cloud (i.e. Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop) and other software like Canva and CapCut.Willingness to work on weekends/public holidays when required.

  • The Chinese Media Group (CMG) is seeking a highly motivated Performance Planner to join its Branding & Marketing (B&M) team. The B&M section is responsible for co-developing and implementing respective CMG’s products brands strategies, as well as driving effective marketing and communication plans to create strong brand value; these include Lianhe Zaobao, Shin Min Daily News, ThinkChina, ZBSchools, HeyKaki, UFM100.3 and 96.3 Hao FM etc.
    As a Performance Planner, you will be the subject matter expert in omnichannel marketing efforts, especially in driving digital performances, generating brand awareness and engagement, in not only Singapore, but also Asia and global regions. You are expected to:
    Develop a thorough understanding of CMG and its brands’ mission and business goals;Set up campaigns, optimize audience targeting, ad placement and ROI across programmatic, display, social media, SEM, email marketing etc. to increase effectiveness of ads;Coordinate closely with internal stakeholders such as branding specialists, regional marketer, lifecycle marketer, designer, social media, ad operations etc. to execute marketing plans of varying scales within budget;Research and develop yearly top to mid marketing funnel strategy for CMG brands, using paid digital marketing to amplify and effectively increase market share;Derive benchmarks and KPIs, monitor, analyze and report campaign performance to internal and external stakeholders, where applicable;Utilize data and insights to recommend opportunities for improvement and guide strategic decisions;Research and provide industry updates, trends and insights that can help create potential opportunities;Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on digital campaign optimization;Build and manage relationships with vendors, ad platform partners, and agencies;Perform knowledge sharing within the B&M team, as well as within CMG to educate and inform on best practices; andEnsure confidentiality of all channel and performance data.
    Job Requirements
    Degree/Diploma holder with at least 3 years of related working experience in media, digital marketing or agency;Proven experience in developing and executing media placement across various channels (e.g. Google, Meta, TikTok, X, Taboola, Outbrain, Baidu, WeChat etc.) in Singapore and global regions;Proven experience in using marketing analytics tools and data visualization tools, including but not limited to GA4, Lookerstudio, Tableau, Excel, Google Sheets etc;Proven experience in ad platforms integration with strong working knowledge in API, SDK or event creating on GTM;Strong working knowledge of the digital media space with an emphasis in paid social, search, display, video and mobile etc; Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Mandarin as this role mainly supports Chinese products;Able to produce effective presentations, and appreciate compelling content;Kept abreast of changes in marketing and content trends, technologies, social media landscape and consumer behaviors;Highly proactive, detail-oriented and good at project management; good news sense would be advantageous;Able to multitask with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment;Able to work independently but also connect with people and collaborate as a team; andAble to work on weekends due to campaigns.

    As a journalist/correspondent specialising in the real estate sector, you will produce content across online, print, voice and video platforms of The Business Times in a fast-paced environment. You will be reporting on property market activity and data across all segments, real estate deals and corporate transactions.
    Strong writing and analytical skills are prerequisites, while technical skills can be trained and honed. You should be quick at spotting trends - and anomalies - and ready to seize news scoops.
