About Built Environment Artificial Intelligence Centre of ExcellenceThe Built Environment Artificial Intelligence Centre of Excellence (BE AI CoE) is a national initiative established by the Ministry of National Development (MND) in partnership with the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD).
The Centre serves as a national focal point, bringing together government, academia, and industry to co-develop AI solutions with real-world impact while nurturing a new generation of "AI bilinguals" who can bridge technical AI capabilities with BE domain expertise. Through these efforts, the Centre aspires to transform Singapore’s Built Environment (BE) sector across the entire lifecycle—from urban planning and building design to construction and facilities management.
Why You’ll Love This RoleThe Senior Officer supports the BE AI CoE as well as SUTD’s Office of Innovation and Enterprise sectorial partnership activities.
The Senior Officer will play a key role in supporting the Centre Director and Centre Manager with the research programmes and industry-related initiatives. In addition, the role will contribute to sector-specific partnership activities led by SUTD’s Office of Innovation and Enterprise, contributing to the broader goals of innovation and collaboration within the Built Environment sector. This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about the intersection of AI and the Built Environment, and who want to contribute to impactful, multi-disciplinary national initiatives.
You will support the Centre Manager with the development, coordination, and translation of AI solutions across the BE lifecycle, working closely with Government agencies, researchers, and industry partners.
What You’ll Do1. Programme & Project CoordinationSupport the planning, tracking, and progress reporting of research projects across the centre’s work packages and other related sector-specific projects.Assist with organising technical workshops, project meetings, capability-building activities, and stakeholder engagements.Draft meeting minutes, internal briefing notes, updates and other relevant documents.
2. Stakeholder & Partnership SupportAssist in the coordination with government agencies, academia, and industry collaborators for meetings and site visits.Support the Centre Manager on partnership development efforts, including documentation for MoUs, research agreements and tracking partnership deliverables.Help curate public-private innovation activities that strengthen the BE ecosystem’s AI and other relevant capabilities.
3. Operational & Administrative SupportSupport procurements, grant documentations, budgeting, and administrative tasks as required.Assist in maintaining centralised knowledge repositories, project archives, and communication materials.Prepare content for reports, presentations, and dashboards for management and governance committees.
Who We Are Looking ForDiploma in Business, Engineering, Architecture, Computer Science, Urban Planning, Data Science, or related BE/technology disciplines is preferable but not a requisite.Candidates without experience or candidates with 1–2 years of experience in research environments, education, BE or technology disciplines are welcome.
Skills & CompetenciesAnalytical & Organisational:Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a research/innovation environment.
Communication & Collaboration:Strong written and verbal communication skills.Comfortable engaging with multi-disciplinary teams (research, public sector, industry).Able to work independently and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
