  • We are seeking candidate who has experienced in M&E Data Centre subject matter expert to join our team. He/she will be part of the Electrical and Mechanical (M&E) engineering team for the Data Centre Business.
    Make an impact by:
    Design and DevelopmentDevelop next generation Mission Critical System to meet company long term strategies.Develop concept Critical Data Centre equipment design with focus on Electrical Power System. i.e. EHT Transformer, Switch Bay, Ring Main Unit, Transformers.Develop concept designs which meet or exceed quality requirements and fall within our budgetary and meet energy efficiency requirements.Collaborate with internal stakeholders, regional vendors and manufacturers to specify theappropriate Electrical system both upstream and downstream infrastructure.Data Centre Electrical designs and collaboration with other disciplines to create construction document set.Proposes some Electrical engineering knowledge that enabling to read and understand SLD, Electrical distribution layout and basic equipment electrical specification requirement to liaise with Electrical and commissioning counterpart for work deliveries.Resourceful in continuously exploring for new engineering system and/or technology for Data Centre application with an aim to enhance or improve overall performance, lower energy, and water consumption, increase operation productivity and reduce total cost of ownership.Liaise with Energy and Sustainability manager to examine and assess systems design and equipment selection are good in operating efficiency with low energy and water consumption to drive low PUE and WUE for all our DCs.
    ReviewReview RFIs documentation submittal from Consultants, Vendor and Manufacturers.Review Data Centre commissioning scripts and ensure that systems are accurately tested to the required modes of operations.Review design and construction drawings and engineering specification for Data Centre
    EvaluationEvaluate industry new technology to improve power consumption, quality, and efficiencies.Evaluate the design, construction and operation of mission-critical facilities and associated M&E components.
    Skills for Success:Ability to perform complex business case analysis to justify technical decisions and present the justification to Management.Ability to work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions.Ability to travel oversea to support Data Centre construction and implementation.Ability to incorporate Renewable Energy System to the Distribution Network.Travel to sites for site review and work with onsite field engineers, as well as provide engineering evaluations, electrical systems audits, and start-up as needed.Manage Electrical Power System issues during concept design, detailed design, procurement, bidding, manufacturing, delivery, and installation on site.Update and maintain the internal design specifications, drawings, and standards in accordance with the latest configurations and including all 'lessons learned' in relation to all equipment.Provide and prepare documentation such as statement of work, engineering reports, design documents, total cost of ownership analysis, drawing markup, budget, schedule, commissioning, design specification etc.Electrical power fundamental knowledge in load flow, fault analysis and protectionKnowledge of local Code of Practice and regulations.Knowledge of large-scale mission critical facility’s M&E infrastructure systems. Ability to think outside of the box to find creative and innovative solutions to reduce costs with no compromise on quality and system reliability.
    Qualification and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or relevant discipline.5+ years of M&E design experience in Mission Critical Data Centre environment.Good communication skills, written and verbal, to all levels of Management.Strong organization skills and ability to prioritize workload to meet tight deadline in a fast paced and dynamic work environment.Experience with fast-track design/build project.

Ensuring effective and efficient management of day-to-day 24x7 Datacenter Operations.Oversees all data center incident management, participates in outage calls and makes tactical decisions on behalf of Singtel to drive IT outsourced provider toward resolutions that balance risk while maximizing uptime/performance objectives.     Leadership in Cost Management:Lead the continuous enhancement of cost management strategies, ensuring effective control measures are in place throughout the project lifecycle.Take the initiative in developing project budgets and collaborating with the Project Manager to define procurement strategies for new projects.Lead the preparation and review of cost summaries, ensuring up-to-date forecasts and financial reports are presented to key stakeholders.
    Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration:Lead communications with stakeholders to establish project budgets, and assist in defining procurement strategies, aligning financial expectations with project goals.Guide the development of Statements of Work (SOW) for Quantity Surveyor (QS) Consultants and assist the Project Manager with other consultants’ SOWs.Ensure that all contractual agreements, Purchase Orders (POs), and contracts are issued, signed, and fully executed in a timely manner.
