  • Job Title: Associate Patent Examiner (Patent Search, Examination and Analytics), IPOS International

    About the Role
    This position requires you to apply scientific and technical knowledge to the concepts of patent law. You will be required to assess whether an invention is new and judge whether the invention has a technical and legal basis to be granted a patent in Singapore.

    Job Responsibilities
    Core Responsibilities
    Analyse patent applications and identify technical concepts relating to an inventionConduct searches of the state‐of‐the‐art using specialised databases to investigate whether an invention is newConduct substantive examination to ensure an invention complies with patentability criteria required for a patent to be grantedCommunicate with applicants or their patent agents through written opinions to present examination outcomesConsider submissions filed in response to written opinions to advance the prosecution, conducting interviews with applicants or their patent agents to clarify positions where necessary
    General Responsibilities
    Interpret patent law and apply guidelines in the examination of patent applicationsAssess patent applications within area of technical expertise and areas at the peripheryFormulate search strategies for uncovering prior art documents in a cost‐efficient mannerCommunicate, in writing and verbally, technical and legal arguments, to facilitate prosecutionDiscuss and offer technical expertise to peers for inventions that cut across technological domainsKeep pace with technological developments

    In particular, we are looking for someone to join our team with:
    At least a good class Honours degree in Science or EngineeringFamiliarity in one of the following specialised fields will be a plus: ‐ Immunology or in biotechnology with a focus on protein engineering; or ‐ Wireless communication and audio video coding standards such as 3GPP, IEEE; or ‐ Drug conjugates, medicinal chemistry, organic chemistry or polymers; or ‐ Semiconductor memory devices, Mechanical or Civil EngineeringExperience in patent prosecution or completion of Specialist Certificate in Intangible Asset Management/Master of IP and Innovation Management would be an advantage.
    The role will be based in Singapore. Successful candidates will go through a structured training programme in patent law and patent search and examination. You will have opportunities to attend professional training courses and seminars to keep pace with the latest developments in your technical field.

  • Job Title: Assistant Director (Partner Engagement), Enterprise & Ecosystem (2-year contract)
    About the Role
    We are seeking an entrepreneurial, strategic, and relationship-driven Partner Engagement Assistant Director to lead partnership development and ecosystem engagement efforts. You will play a pivotal role in driving IP Grow’s growth, strengthening industry alliances, and advancing our regional and international engagement agenda.
    In this role, you will cultivate and manage high-value relationships with enterprises, service providers, industry associations, and ecosystem partners—locally and overseas. The ideal candidate is commercially minded, proactive, and able to translate partnerships into meaningful, measurable outcomes.
    Key Responsibilities
    Strategic Partner DevelopmentDevelop and execute partnership strategies for IP Grow, aligned with organisational priorities.Identify, onboard, and manage strategic partners across industries, professional services, and ecosystem stakeholders.Structure, negotiate, and implement collaboration models that deliver mutual value and measurable impact.
    Business Development & Market Expansion Identify opportunities to drive overseas demand, cross-border collaborations, and new market entry.Represent the organisation at industry engagements, business missions, and high-level external meetings.Build and maintain a robust pipeline of partnership and collaboration opportunities.
    Programme & Platform GrowthDrive partner participation in IP Grow and other key organisational initiatives.Monitor and track partner engagement performance and outcomes against KPIs.Gather market intelligence and stakeholder insights to refine value propositions and enhance programme design.
    Stakeholder Management & OthersCollaborate closely with internal teams to align partnership objectives, deliverables, and execution.Manage partner communications, ensuring strong relationship continuity and satisfaction.Contribute to new business development and support broader platform development initiatives.

    Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Law, International Relations, or a related field.Minimally 6 years of relevant work experience in business development, partnerships, or client engagement, ideally in legal, IP, consulting, or professional services sectors.Experience working with public-private partnerships or Trade Associations and Chambers (TACs) is advantageous.Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills.Strategic thinker with a hands‑on, results‑oriented approach.A strong team player who collaborates effectively across functions and builds trust with internal and external stakeholdersExperience in regional or international engagement is preferred.Willingness to travel when required.

  • Job Title: Senior Executive, Operations & Digital Management, IP Strategy Solutions (2-year renewable contract)
    About the Role
    Reporting to the Director of the IP Strategy Solutions unit, you will join a dynamic team that is actively building the ecosystem of support to help enterprises grow by empowering them to manage their IP / intangible assets (“IP/IA”) in support of business goals. We are looking for a versatile, proactive, and tech-savvy professional to ensure the smooth operations of the department.
    Key Responsibilities
    Reporting & Analytics:
    Prepare management reports and dashboards, and tracking performance indicators to support data-driven decision-making.
    Digital Systems & Knowledge Management (KM):
    Serve as the lead for Knowledge Management, maintaining and structuring the department’s SharePoint sites to ensure information is accessible and secure.Manage the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, ensuring data integrity and optimising the platform for efficiency.Act as the department website representative, coordinating updates and ensuring content accuracy in collaboration with the marketing team.Spearhead or assist in the development of internal AI tools and automation workflows to streamline repetitive tasks and enhance productivity, in collaboration with the IT team.Stay abreast of emerging digital trends to recommend improvements to existing operational processes.
    General Operations and Procurement
    Organise and act as the secretariat for department meetings, including scheduling, preparing agendas, and tracking follow-up actions.Manage the department’s budget and procurement processes, ensuring compliance with organisational procurement policies.Manage the operations and logistics of the department’s events and engagement activities, online and offline.
