Academic Teacher (Chinese Language) - Part-TimeWe are seeking a passionate and dedicated part-time Chinese Language Teacher to join Furen International School’s high school faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and guiding international learners in Chinese Language, supporting students in developing strong reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. The teacher will play a key role in preparing students for academic examinations such as Cambridge IGCSE Chinese as a First/Second Language and CIE A-Level Chinese, helping them build confidence and competence in both academic and practical language use.
Key Responsibilities• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and structured Chinese Language lessons aligned with Cambridge IGCSE and CIE A-Level syllabi.• Teach Chinese language skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking) effectively, adapting instruction to suit international students with varying proficiency levels.• Design learning materials such as worksheets, tests, essays, comprehension exercises, and mock examinations, and assess student work fairly and consistently.• Support students in developing advanced language proficiency, critical thinking, and cultural understanding of Chinese language and literature.• Monitor student progress closely, identify learning gaps, and provide targeted academic support or enrichment where necessary.• Prepare students thoroughly for external examinations, including essay writing techniques, comprehension strategies, and time management skills.• Foster a disciplined, engaging, and supportive classroom environment that encourages active language use and confidence building.• Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum development, and professional development activities as required.
Job Requirements• Bachelor’s degree in Chinese Language, Chinese Studies, Education, Linguistics, or a closely related discipline.• Strong academic background in Chinese Language and Literature is highly preferred.• Fresh graduates or final-year undergraduates with strong academic results are welcome to apply.• Native or near-native proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (spoken and written).• Strong passion for teaching Chinese to international students and helping them improve language proficiency.• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to simplify complex language concepts.• Ability to plan lessons independently, manage classroom dynamics, and maintain high academic standards.• Familiarity with Cambridge IGCSE Chinese and CIE A-Level Chinese syllabi is a strong advantage.• Prior teaching, tutoring, or mentoring experience (formal or informal) will be an added advantage but is not mandatory.
